The Fish Club should be able to place Christmas trees into the lake for structure sometime in April. Thanks to the clubhouse for the use of the pontoon boat to place the trees.
Everything is all set and in place for our Reverse Raffle. By the time you read this newsletter the Reverse Raffle will be over. Congratulations to all the winners and better luck next year to all the losers.
The Fish Club would like to make a suggestion that everyone who fishes this spring please check to see if we had a Shad (bait fish) kill due to the bad winter. Feed back to our club will determine if we need to stock more bait fish for 2010.
Our first Bass Tournaments will begin in April; dates are Saturday the 3rd, 10th and 24th. The times are 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Gardener to Gardener: Repot houseplants if needed. Tomatoes, snapdragons and spiderflowers can be started from seed only a few weeks before moving them into the garden. Don’t prune trees or shrubs when growth has started and buds are swelling. Prune before growth starts in spring or wait until plants have leafed out.
Bonnie Popa – Publicity Chairman
“ Ode To Spring “ couldn’t be more appropriate for the beautiful morning.
Nice to see everyone after having to cancel the February meeting.
Trustee Cindy Waikem updated us with the status of the aborted sale of the Shopping Centre, the activities of the Maintenance Crew and problems with the Tennis Court. Noted also that a level of Child Floatation devices will be permitted in marked-out areas of the beach this year. This is due to some rule relaxation for Non -Profit Organizations such as ours. Cindy also passed out “ Life Pouches” to contain emergency information.
The program by our good neighbor Dave Little on the history of Lake Cable and the Cable family was fascinating and extremely interesting. Dave shared a great deal of the fruits of his years of research, and I am sure that he enjoyed giving it as we all enjoyed hearing it. THANKS DAVE !!!
The program for April will be Fire Chief Ted Hecht

The speaker for the night was Mr. Paul Snyder from C S E Credit Union. Paul spoke about “Identity Theft”. Paul’s talk was very interesting and all who attended the meeting walked away with a better understanding of how fast some one can get your personal information steal your identity and creates many problems that you then need to spend time and money to get cleared up. Thanks Paul.
Steak Fry tickets are now on sale and you can purchase a ticket at the front office. The steak fry is scheduled for Tuesday June 8th.
Steve Ott spoke about Hooked on fishing. The board then opened the discussion to the members and it was tabled until the April meeting. At the April meeting a vote will be put to the membership to donate $ 600.00 to Hooked on fishing.

PRESIDENTS BLOG:
The weather for our last meeting was much better than last month and we were finally able to have Mr. Paul Snyder, from C S E Credit Union, in for his talk on “Identity Theft”. All our members who were in attendance enjoyed a great talk! Thanks Paul for being part of our evening! This month our speaker will be Mr. Richard Lowery who is a Wildlife Education Officer. I am inviting all our members to attend and let’s “fill the room” for his talk. I also want to remind all our members about the tour coming up at the MAPS Museum in May. Be sure to sign up for that. See the notice in this month’s news letter.
Hopefully with the weather changing for the better, we can get out and enjoy the lake. I also hope I see you at the next Sportsman’s Club meeting. Lets all try to bring in some new members that are missing out on all the fun! See you in April…. Ken Roush
