Aqua Doc treated the lake with “Sonarone” on April 18th to combat early season weed growth, especially Curly-Leaf Pondweed. This treatment is time-released and meant to slow the growth of plants that first arrive. However, due to warmer weather and a delay in the supply chain for the treatment chemicals, we have seen healthy plant growth. We have sent pictures to Aqua Doc and requested an earlier follow-up and treatment in high traffic areas, if deemed necessary, rather than waiting until the scheduled treatment on May 16. Last year’s treatment worked well after an initial thick growth, and many said that we had one of the best weed years in recent memory. This year’s treatment covers 63 acres, pretty much all except the main lake.
